Sponsor a Student
Our Sponsorship Program:
Through our sponsorship program, we strive to engage underserved populations, and many of our children are from low income or disadvantaged homes. Over 35% of AMA Students are sponsored, meaning their families would not otherwise be able to afford to send their students to the school.
Why Sponsor?
Guatemala has one of the lowest school enrollment rates in Latin America. Less than 40% of students in Guatemala make it past 6th grade. (source: USAID)
What Does Sponsorship Include?
School fees – enrollment fees and tuition fees for students.
Graduation fees – in kindergarten, and 6th, 9th and 12th grade.
Administration – Teacher salaries (covered by all student tuition fees), communication to donors, photos, report cards, monitoring progress, etc.
We Support Connections Between Students and Sponsors.
We believe that both students and sponsors benefit from engagement across different cultures and backgrounds.
We will:
-
Send you updates on student’s school report cards
Give the students the option to write letters to you
-
Invite you to travel to Guatemala to meet your student and their family
