Our new teaching team has arrived in Panajachel and during the week of August 25-29 we will be training and planning for the start of the school year. Don’t forget to stop by and meet the new teachers on Friday August 29 (2-5 pm)!

We’re looking for volunteers to help enrich and enhance the learning environment for our students. Volunteers are needed to assist in classrooms one-on-one with students needing extra help, to assist with lunchtime playground monitoring, and to assist with maintenance projects around the school. Contact the office if you are interested!

AMA’s Open House before the new school year is scheduled for 2-5 PM on Friday August 29! Please stop by to meet the new teaching team and see the reorganized classrooms and open spaces. Refreshments will be provided.

Don’t forget to order school uniform (AMA polos) from the school office before school starts! All student are required to wear the AMA polos this year. Cost per shirt is Q60 (small) or Q70 (medium/large).

We’re reorganizing the school library by genre for 2014-15 to make it more usable for students. We’re also clearing out obsolete titles and looking for new books to shelve. Let us know if you have sci-fi, adventure, or other fiction titles to donate. Stop by and see the changes in August!
