Senior year is coming to an end and it’s with great sadness and happiness we will all soon start living in the “real world”. Many of us are still uncertain also what to do with our lives and what life has prepared for us. We still have a couple of months together, sharing and creating many unforgettable memories. One of the most important ones will be the senior school trip. It’s one of our last opportunities to be together before having to leave and start college.
Our trip is planned for the middle of April. Our lovely class of 9 students will be leave on Thursday, April 14th and will spent a weekend on the luxuries beach of Monterrico.
Monterrico is located on the Pacific Ocean, approximately 4 hours away from Panajachel, and the place is full of activities. We, the students will be traveling with two teachers that will be supervising us in all hours. The senior students are completely in charge of the excursion so they are the ones that have to look for the hotel, check the prices, and book the rooms. The school believes that we are more than capable of doing this by ourselves and working together as a team.
The trip now seems to be more than a dream now. The lack of money and economic support is still a great problem, so it’s up to us the senior to find a way to pay for our field trip. We have spoken to the principal and he has agreed for us to have bake sales on Friday. We have also prepared raffles that will be sold to the whole school in order to raise more money. Many of the students can’t afford to pay for the school trip at all so, together, we will find a way so no one is left behind and everyone can attend to the senior school trip.
